Chicken Express is a regional chain of fast food restaurants concentrated in the Southern United States.
Chicken Express was established in 1988 by Richard and Nancy Stuart's Stuart Group Inc. The first restaurant was opened in 1988 in Benbrook, Texas. The restaurant serves fried chicken, catfish, chicken tenders and side dishes. The chain is also known for their iced tea, which they sell by the gallon. Chicken Express is headquartered in Burleson, Texas and has over 200 locations in Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
The delivery business was very successful for spreading the word and product, so in 1990 until 1994 all new franchises utilized the dine-in, drive-thru, or “delivery” concept. Now with the expanded stores the major customer base is drive-thru; dine-in; carhop (at select locations) and especially catering for any occasion or tailgating event.
