If you're looking for a cheaper ghetto version of Ed Debevic's you've found it. While Ed Debevic's is entertaining and witty, you get what you pay for at McDonalds. Rude employees. Items missing from orders. Voicemail that doesn't have the mailbox set up when you try to remedy the mistake. And employees that call you a liar when you go back to get what they forgot, accusing you of stealing and saying you should have called the manager (even though you did at the store number that won't get answered and you couldn't leave a message at.) Logically you'd think talking to the manager while at the store would be the same, but logic has no place here. The burger gods have spoken, and they have nothing but salt for you.

I don't go to McDonalds often, but when I do it's usually because I'm wanting to give myself a little treat. This is very much not that, unless you are into sadomasochism- then by all means treat yourself! You'll enjoy the delight of being yelled at, having the company not give you what you paid for, then flipping it around and accusing YOU of stealing, incompetent management who will give you a hard time even after being shown proof of your claims, having the building closed at random hours of normal operation no sign on the door as to why, and rude staff who will argue with you over legitimate reasonable requests and insist on having the last word (which, when it's the whole staff not one that's a sign of poor management) then go to McDebevics. You can fulfill your dream of reenacting an improv version of Monty Python's argument sketch!

Personally, after several trips all resulting in terrible experiences I'm not giving them another chance. Hope I can save someone else out there the headache. I can honestly say I've never been treated worse by any other fast food restaurant, Chicago or otherwise, than I have been here.
