Boston Market is hoping to provide more access to its comfort food by opening its first food court location this week, according to a company press release.
"We want to be where our guests are, and non-traditional locations help us provide satisfying, home style options people can enjoy in even more places," George Michel, CEO of Boston Market, said about the new unit in Syracuse, N.Y.'s Destiny USA shopping center. "We have many loyal guests in New York, and opening our first food court location in the top shopping center in our top market is an important step in our plan for expansion."
The Syracuse opening is a progression of the fast casual chain's desired expansion into the non-traditional segment of the restaurant industry. The location will offer a streamlined version of the traditional Boston Market menu, featuring Rotisserie Chicken, roasted turkey and St. Louis Style BBQ ribs, as well as a selection of their most popular sides, Michel said.
The chain plans to open five new locations this year and has signed a 10-year agreement with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service to operate licensed locations on military bases around the country.
"Boston Market is a dynamic addition to our food court area, particularly with this location being one of their first ever locations in a food court at a shopping center," said Rob Schoeneck, general manager of Destiny USA. "Our team and the Syracuse community are excited to welcome them and have this 'home cooked meal' style favorite here on our second level."
